  • VCU Training Search – The VCU Training Web site provides a list of professional development short courses and self-paced materials.  Courses may be searched by key word, sponsor, category or campus.

Other VCU Training Opportunities

 
  • VCU Center for Teaching Excellence – Blackboard and other instructional technology training opportunities are available to faculty who wish to improve technology skills in the teaching and learning environment.
  • VCU Libraries Instructional Services – VCU Libraries provide a variety of resources for faculty, staff, and students. VCU Libraries offer workships and online tutorials to help develop information management skills.
  • VCU Human Resources – Banner timekeeping and other personnel related courses are available to staff who provide support for human resources services within their unit.
  • VCU Procurement & Payment – Fiscal administrative courses are offered on the use of the eVA Procurement System and the Banner payment and procurement process.
  • Asset Management - The Controller’s Office provides Banner training in the use of the Asset Management System at VCU.
  • eServices Student and Faculty FAQs - eServices provides students and faculty access to courses and registration information. The most Frequently Asked Questions on the use of eServices for student and faculty may be accessed from this site.
  • Banner Training - Banner is the new administrative system used by the University. It supports the finance, human resources, student and financial aid, course registration, student accounting, academic history, and degree audit. Training on the use of the Banner is provided by the departments that use the system. A list of available training on the use of Banner is available at this site.
  • Windows & Office 2007 On-line Computer Courses - The School of Business offers an INFO course series of self-paced, on-line computer courses. You must register for the course at the beginning of the semester. To learn more about the one-credit Windows, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, and Presentation courses, go to the INFO16X@VCU Web page.
  • ePhone Training - VCU has upgraded the phone system to a new technology known as Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP. To take advantage of all the features available on your new phone, we encourage you to download the instructional materials available on the ePhone Training Web page.

Other Regional Non-VCU Technology Training Opportunities

 
  • Community College Workforce Alliance – The Community College System offers a range of hands-on courses in the areas of PC Skills, Computer Technology and IT Programming. Courses are offered at various locations within the metropolitan area.
  • RISE – The Richmond Information System Educators was established to reduce the cost of information technology training costs for member companies. VCU, state and federal agencies and private companies encompass the membership. To register for a RISE class click on the Contact button on the left Menu and let us know.

A variety of tutorials are available on CD for check-out through the Library Media Services area located on the
3rd floor of Cabell Library.CDs may be borrowed for three days. Click on the title for more information. The SPSS tutorial is available through Online@VCU for purchase.
